Are you ready for something different?
Today’s society is filled with unhealthy choices, detrimental conveniences, and overwhelming pressures. It’s no wonder that so many people are struggling to stay healthy and maintain a desired weight. It’s also no coincidence that chronic illness such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease, to name just a few, are not only on the rise but are doing so at an alarming rate. Something has got to give. We have the answer.
Part of being successful in any endeavor takes a few key components. They aren’t what people think. Luck and genetics aren’t as important as people think. Sure to have both on your side helps, but both can be overcome having the right tools.
1) The right tools. Having the right tools in any job is unbelievably huge. You couldn’t get very far as an auto-mechanic if you had only a hammer and a screwdriver. No, you must have sockets, wrenches, jacks, etc. The right tools are necessary.
2) Desire & effort. Let’s face it, if you want to be something different then you must do something different. This is hard to face. We humans like our comfort zone. This is another reason so many people get stuck. They “think” they want to make a change, but when it comes down to it, their fear of change prevents them from doing it. You simply can’t keep doing what you’re doing and reach a different conclusion.
3) Support network. Did you know that according to a Harvard study, conducted in 2007 by James Fowler and Nicholas Christakis, that a person is almost 60% more likely to be overweight if their friends are overweight? As a matter of fact, the same study showed that our friends actually have more of an impact on our health than our spouses do!
